    Religions of the World

    What is religion? What defines religion? This class explores the diverse phenomena identified as religions.

    The creative, transforming, and conserving functions of religious traditions, institutions, and persons provide the focus.

    Social Change Struggles

    Social change is happening all around us. It is always present, so what can we learn from this? One of the courses that explores the theory and practical applications of political and economic theory, social analysis and strategic methods to work for change in local, national, and international contexts. Courses include: Community Organizing, Issues of the Global Economy, Pine Ridge Immersion, Conflict Transformation, and Disrupting Privilege.

    Interreligious Dialogue

    Can members of different religious groups genuinely meet as equals, or does one group always have the upper hand? Is there a hidden agenda in such dialogue? This course explores various perspectives that help students expand their ability to see both sides of an issue and respect multiple faith traditions.

    How are the "ism's" impacting us today? And, more importantly, tomorrow? A historical look at the role of racism, sexism, and classism demonstrates how institutional structures of the existing world order and how analysis of these structures can help those interested in justice and peace eliminate race, gender, and class oppression.
